Red Deer Pond Hockey believes all children, regardless of skill level, should have the opportunity to play non-body contact hockey in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
To support the above mission, Red Deer Pond Hockey has instituted a Penalty Escalation Matrix.
We also believe in teaching children the basic rules of the game and while it is not the intent to jeopordize the free flow of play, minor penalties can and will be assessed where warranted.
Icing and offsides are not called in Division I but are called in Divisions II, III and IV.
Parent volunteers referee Division I and II, whereas designated referees are involved in Divisions III and IV.
Note: Players are not allowed to join Red Deer Pond Hockey who are registered in other hockey leagues as we find players who are involved in more than one league are not committed enough to their teams making it unfair to the players that are.
